Consider:
Total economic impact in 3 steps
1) Benefits for climate & local communities
These results are considered very high, due to the relevance of the project and its efficiency (simple technique, participatory, without individual material investment and with a relatively short effect on natural resources and rural economies)
distribution of benefits
2) CO2 accreditation in benefit for investor
In summary a nature based project is indexed on exploitation cost per hectare (HA). The sequestered CO2 is measured in outcome per HA and certified in emission reductions, so called Certified Emission Reductions (CERs), where 1 tCO2 = 1 CER.
CERs are transactional and the difference between the cost of exploitation and the return of CERs is the tangible benefit.
Cost - Return - Benefit
3) Market price of CER (tCO2 equivalent)
Demand for Certified Emission Reductions (CER) is rising.
